Family Planning Nurse

The Research Care and Training Program (RCTP), is a collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and University of Washington (UW). It is a dynamic comprehensive HIV prevention, research, care and treatment program in Kenya. It is a rapidly expanding program. Due to its continued growth, the program is seeking motivated, pro-active individuals to fill the following vacancies for the Family Planning Study.

Research assistant

The Research Care and Training Program (RCTP) is a collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and University of Washington (UW). It is a dynamic comprehensive HIV prevention, research, care and treatment program in Kenya. It is a rapidly expanding program. Due to its continued growth, the program is seeking a motivated, pro-active individual to fill the following vacancy in the Migration Study. This is a study dealing with migration patterns, mobility and HIV risks among women in Nyanza Province.

MOH - FACES Program

Provincial Medical Office (Nyanza Province) in collaboration with the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) –Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) Nyanza Program received funding through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for purposes of strengthening the Ministry of Health HIV, Care and Treatment service provision in Suba, Migori, Rongo and Kisumu East districts through Human Resource capacity for advancing HIV Care and Treatment. Due to this, the following vacancies are available in the Offices of Provincial Director of Public Health and Sanitation (PDPHS) and Provincial Director of Medical Services (PDMS), Nyanza. The positions would attract Ministry of Health Pay Scale .

  • Position: Assistant Program Coordinator / Medical Officer

    Family AIDS Care and Education Services is a comprehensive HIV program that is based in Nyanza. We are seeking a motivated, pro-active individual to fill the role of Assistant Programme Coordinator/Medical Officer. This is a rapidly expanding program with a lot of potential for growth within the organization. Please note this is NOT a research position.

    Duties shall include:

    • Deputizing in the formation and coordination of various program systems including clinical care, mentoring, training, site evaluation and development, counseling and education, community follow-up, reporting, and commodity management
    • Clinical care of patients, clinical mentoring and training of staff on and off-site
    • Establishing collaborations with other partners
    • Timely reporting to NASCOP and donors

    The job is 50% clinical work and 50% program development and coordination.

    Key Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and registered to practice with the Kenya Medical and Dentists Practitioners Board
    • Experience in HIV care will be an added advantage
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Must be a team player
    • Excellent computer skills
